Now I’m honestly no fan of this woman but THIS IS SICK. What the F*** is wrong with the media?? This is disgusting and this is crossing the line, i will never buy another gossip magazine. These scum of the earth people should not be making so much money for just straight up bullying others.

What someone is eating should be of no concern to anyone but the person eating it and maybe their doctor and/or family if it’s causing health issues. Especially since she is pregnant. I saw this magazine cover in EVERY grocery store and drugstore checkout I’ve been in this week along with another one bashing Kim and two magazines about her sister (Chloe?) and her “best bod ever” and shit.

My mouth gaped in the store.

Cannot. Believe. The media industry. And I feel sick that there are so many people that read must those magazines and are like “ooooo girl luv dis gossip!”

My thoughts on it have been that it is straight up misogyny. She is expected to be perfect and thin and fit and sexually appealing for ogling men even when she’s carrying child? She’s expected to be a sexual object that lives up to your fantasies when she is pregnant? I mean it’s not her job to please you regardless, but ESPECIALLY not now.

She is taking care of another life and dieting and staying thin should NOT be a priority. The only priority she needs in her life is to make sure her baby is healthy, and it is. I don’t give a shit if she eats a fucking gallon of ice cream, she is a pregnant woman and cravings are normal. She’s supporting two lives. Fuck that, she is a PERSON, pregnant or not, and it’s nobody’s damn business what goes on with her body.

Enough. Just enough with all this sexist, misogynistic typecasting in entertainment and media. Not just in the United States, but the world.

I’ve decided to share my opposition to this extremely perverse nature of social advertising after watching a commercial for Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr. (A popular American fast food chain), in which a woman in a car at a drive-in movie begins to gorge herself on a jalapeño sandwich and proceeds to mimic sexual acts with a fucking pepper. She begins to sweat and take off her clothing, and lays all over the seats of her car while mowing down on this burger. Wow. Just- wow. I sat in amazement afterwards, just utter amazement. It wasn’t clever advertising, it wasn’t funny, and it certainly didn’t want to make me- a woman, more than half of the country’s population want to go out and buy this product.

Maybe it’s because I’m sensitive to the subject, but if I see any woman in the media whose use/image/attitude is used solely for some sort of sexual innuendo, it’s just fucking sexist. If the first thing that you, as a viewer, are meant to think of when a woman is featured on any type of media is sex, then it’s just wrong. I know, I’m sure the guys would reply to the fact that once in a blue moon some cologne commercial features some “bronzed god-like image of a man with a flowing white Spanish shirt riding a horse on the beach” and I’m sure all those guys out there are incredibly offended by it- but the fact is, it’s rare, and is even portrayed as somewhat of a joke.

Magazines may have some cheekboned male models, but there is a difference between beauty and sex. If someone’s face is beautiful and accentuated, I have no problem with that. Even a tasteful nude is meant for the purpose of glorifying the body, not exploiting it. I have a problem when someone’s body is treated as some slab of meat to drool over. I have a problem with the women who are subjected to the subtle boob-revealing low cut shirts in even professional commercials. When is the last time a male has been sighted in the media with some slightly revealing ‘low cut pubic section show-off pants’?

Haven’t we as a society matured past the fact that women have breasts and shapes in their bodies that are different than males? Yes, we do, but that does not mean our bodies are sex machines. We are not made that way to entice men into buying some skeezy product. Believe it or not, women have opinions and choices. Which is exactly what these female actresses in these commercials must realize before they become slaves to the misogynistic world of public advertising.
